DEREK FALKENSTEIN, PT & OWNER
Derek graduated from Fairmont Senior High School and went on to study Physical Therapy at West Virginia University. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the WVU School of Physical Therapy in 1993. A few years after, he became the Director of Physical Medicine at Fairmont General Hospital. He served in that position for ten years. He left Fairmont General in 2006 to open Country Roads Physical Therapy with colleague, Michael Barkley.
Derek and his wife, Monica, have two children. He enjoys WVU sports, Pittsburgh professional sports, reading mystery novels, and music.
MICHAEL BARKLEY, DPT & OWNER
Prior to opening Country Roads, Michael owned Hometown Rehab which provided home health services to Marion County for five years. He is a Marion county native with a desire to provide a high standard of care that would make an impact on the people of his hometown and surrounding areas.
Michael graduated from Fairmont State University with a B.S. degree in Biology and Health Science. He went on to receive a M.S. and DPT degree from Wheeling Jesuit University. In his spare time, Michael enjoys outdoor activities, working out, and reading. He also enjoys spending time with his son.
MONICA FALKENSTEIN, CFO and Business Manager
Monica Falkenstein graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1995 with a degree in Elementary Education with specializations in math and science. She taught for seven years before "retiring" to start a family. She started officially working for Country Roads Physical Therapy in 2007 as a bookkeeper and benefits coordinator. Now she is the company's business manager and serves as the CFO. Monica's hobbies are gardening, cooking, running, playing with her kids, and spending time with family and friends.
SARA LANTZ, DPT, ATC
Sara graduated from Alderson-Broaddus College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training, and is a Certified Athletic Trainer. In 2009, she received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Wheeling Jesuit University, and immediately began employment at Country Roads Physical Therapy. Sara enjoys physical therapy because "...it is a challenging, yet rewarding career, which gives you an opportunity to promote health and assist people in recovery from injury or illness." Areas of interest include athletic injuries, ankle/foot rehabilitation, manual therapy, and community health. Sara has a strong commitment to quality care and enjoys getting to know each of her patients as a friend. Outside of work, she enjoys kayaking, fishing, watching baseball, and biking.
BOBBY OLIVERIO, DPT - BUCKHANNON CLINIC DIRECTOR
Director of the Buckhannon clinic, Bobby started working at Country Roads Physical Therapy in June 2010, just one month post-graduation from West Virginia University where he received a B.S. degree in Biology. He continued at WVU to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in May 2010. As a Bridgeport High School graduate, he’s excited to advance his career close to home and enjoys serving the people of north central West Virginia.
Bobby, and his wife, Samantha, currently reside in Fairmont with their Miniature Schnauzer, Cooper. He enjoys Mountaineer sports, working out, cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
JILL FINLEY, MPT
Jill Finely grew up in North Pole, Alaska. She made her way to West Virginia to study Physical Education at Fairmont State University. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in 1999. She went on to West Virginia University and obtained her Masters in Physical Therapy in 2005. Since then she has been employed in both inpatient and outpatient therapy settings in Waynesburg, PA.
Jill lives in Morgantown with her husband Rich and her daughter Haley, born in March 2009. She enjoys snowboarding, movies, and spending time with her family.
JEANETTE SHANNON, PT
Jeanette is our new pediatric therapist. She graduated from West Virginia University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She brings 17 years of experience to Country Roads Physical Therapy, including expertise in both pediatrics and geriatrics. She enjoys working with a wide variety of age groups and different diagnoses and has spent time in a number of different clinical settings. Jeanette is a member of the Advisory Board for Fairmont State College’s Physical Therapy Assistant Program and a member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoys WVU sports, gardening and spending time with her 6-year-old daughter.
ZACHARY LANE, DPT
Zach joined Country Roads in Buckhannon in September 2011. Zach grew up in New Hampshire and received his Bachelor's degree from Keene State College and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University.
In addition to Physical Therapy and educational experience, Zach is a veteran of the Army National Guard, and spent 10 years as a Medevac Helicopter pilot. In his spare time, Zach enjoys playing sports and being in the outdoors. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends.
ANDREW McQUAID, PTA
Andrew McQuaid began his employment with Country Roads in 2008. He obtained a Physical Therapy Assistant degree from Pierpont Community and Technical College. Andrew chose the field of physical therapy due to a personal experience in which he had a chance to view therapy from the patient's perspective. He enjoys interacting with patients and closely following their treatment. He finds it rewarding when even the smallest gains are made toward improving the patient’s health and strength. Andrew's hobbies are golfing and motocross dirt biking.
KENNY STATLER, PTA
Kenny Statler has been a part of the Country Roads team since November 2008. He is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania and a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of West Virginia. His desire to pursue physical therapy started while working as a Transport Aide in a rehabilitation hospital. Kenny enjoys all aspects of physical therapy with special interests in manual therapy and sports rehab. Kenny participates in basketball, softball, and golf in his leisure time.
MEGAN FERRELL, PTA
Megan joined Country Roads Physical Therapy in Buckhannon in October 2011 with a focus on Manual Therapy. Megan is a 2011 graduate of Wytheville Community College in Wytheville, Virginia with a degree in Physical Therapy Assisting. Megan's interest in Physical Therapy began with an interest in fitness and her love of helping people. When not working, Megan is enjoying the outdoors, hiking, biking and running.
TRACI COTTON, EAST FAIRMONT OFFICE MANAGER
Traci joined Country Roads Physical Therapy in March 2009 as office manager of our east side location. She obtained an Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting from Huntington Junior College of Business in 2006 and has continued to work in the medical office setting. Traci is also registered in the state of WV as a Pharmacy Technician in which she worked in Pharmacy for 3 years prior to her degree. Her priority is to warmly greet patients while assisting in their insurance and scheduling needs. Traci supports the therapists by taking care of the administrative needs of the office and handling employee files. In her free time, she enjoys visiting family, camping, fishing, gardening, and biking at state parks.
SHERRY PLETCHER, BUCKHANNON OFFICE MANAGER
Sherry Pletcher joined the Country Roads Physical Therapy team in March 2011 at the Buckhannon facility. She is a 2004 West Virginia Junior College graduate and holds an Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting and Information Technology. With her friendly and energetic personality, she’s a natural at her job and loves seeing and hearing the progress patients make to regain their quality of life.
In her free time, Sherry enjoys running, reading, camping, Steelers football and WVU sports.
PEGGY MALANOSKY – OFFICE MANAGER
In July 2011, Office Manager Peggy Malanosky, was welcomed to the Country Roads Physical Therapy team. She has over 12 years of experience in an office setting and became a licensed massage therapist in 2003. She enjoys helping people, putting a smile on their face and watching their recovery in the small friendly family like atmosphere at Country Roads.
Peggy enjoys road biking, meditation, vegetarianism, and living a holistic lifestyle with the belief that the body can heal itself with the right nutrition and exercise. She also loves the outdoors and living in WV.
ASHLEY BARTHOLOW, OFFICE ASSISTANT EAST SIDE
Ashley began employment with Country Roads in November 2010 at the east side facility. She is a graduate of East Fairmont High School and a current student at Fairmont State University. She has a special interest in cosmetology for which she holds a WV license. She enjoys most about her job the interaction with patients while assisting in the office duties by checking patients in/out, scheduling, benefits and authorizations, and follow up calls to check on patients. She likes to camp and loves her two dogs Daisy & Duke.
CHARLEE FOX, OFFICE ASSISTANT
Charlee Fox began working at Country Roads Physical Therapy in January of 2009 and has three years of experience working in an office setting. She is a student at Shepherd University pursuing a degree in Environmental Sustainability and is a member of the Honors Program and serves as a Student Ambassador. Charlee loves everything about her job at Country Roads, especially catching up with patients, listening the their stories and watching their improvement. Her duties include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, answering phones, filing paperwork and billing.
When not working at Country Roads, Charlee enjoys football, working our, running, teaching gymnastics, dancing, hiking and volunteering at the local animal shelter.
ANNA STARKEY, OFFICE ASSISTANT
Anna came to Country Roads in June 2009. She is currently a student at Fairmont Senior High School. Anna likes working with the therapists and assistants, however her favorite attribute of physical therapy are the patient’s she encounters. Her organization, energy, and communicative ability are just a few traits that she exhibits while working. Her job description entails filing, making charts, answering phones and scheduling appointments. Anna’s interests include soccer, basketball, and varsity lacrosse.
